- A scenario showing an ineffective interpersonal interaction is scripted; the scenario is repeated showing corrections and improvements to make the interaction effective
- Each scenario is acted and filmed
- Students view the filmed scenarios
- The teacher explains to the students what made each interaction ineffective or effective based on characteristics of speech commonly used in Canadian English
- Learners practice the skills that have been demonstrated via extension activities designed to address listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
- Activities move from structured practice to freer practice to free practice, giving the learners extensive opportunity to develop good interpersonal skills, as simulated in the video
